Scrivn Scan for Android
Stand in the room, tap each corner, and Scan draws it to size: walls, doors, windows, closets, cabinets and stairs. Share a floor plan PDF, or a JPG drawn to scale for tracing in Xactimate or any sketch tool.
Free for 3 scans a month. Unlimited for $19 a month.
No laser, no sketching. The phone’s camera finds each corner; you tell it which.
Stand near the middle of the room and put the ring on each corner in turn. Doors, windows and cabinets are a tap or two each.
Type in a wall you measured with your tape and have Scan scale the whole room to it. Every wall you tape after that brings it closer.
A floor plan PDF with every room’s size, and a JPG drawn to scale — saved on your phone and ready to send.
More than four walls: the things a quote or an estimate actually needs.
Room after room in one scan, joined at their doorways, with walls drawn 4″ thick the way a plan should be.
Each one placed on its wall at its width, closet doors included — and the closet behind them when you want it.
Base and upper runs along a wall, islands standing free, and the tub or shower in its alcove.
A flight tapped at its corners, with its rise, run and width, placed where it climbs.
Height read at every corner, and sloped or vaulted ceilings measured rather than guessed.
Any wall you measure by hand wins over the phone’s reading, and the room fits itself to it.
Basement, main floor and upstairs in one scan, each level a plan of its own with its own page in the PDF.
Mark the wet line on each wall and paint the wet floor as you go, with the meter readings and the drying equipment it calls for.
The outside of the house is measured in Scrivn, from photos taken with the phone’s own camera: every wall, the roof and an exterior report. No Scan needed.
Anyone who needs a measured plan before the work starts.
Every room’s size and floor area on the plan, measured on the first visit instead of guessed and re-measured later.
The JPG is drawn to a known scale, so it drops into Xactimate or any sketch tool as an underlay to trace over.

Doing restoration? Every Scrivn plan includes Scan, plus the scope and inspection report written from your walkthrough.
Android phones that run Google’s ARCore with its depth feature — most recent Samsung Galaxy S and Google Pixel phones. If yours can’t, the app says so when it opens.
Not yet. Scan is Android first; an iPhone version is planned after.
No. Scan measures and makes the plan with no signal at all. A scan sent to Scrivn with no signal is kept on the phone and goes on its own when there is signal.
Not Scan: the outside is measured in Scrivn, from photos taken with the phone’s own camera, on any phone. Scrivn walks you round the house a step at a time, the front, each corner at 45°, each side straight on, and a measurement or two, and works out every wall’s length and the exterior report. The guide shows how.
Scrivn does, from the outside photos: the roof is built from the house’s footprint, with every line’s length and the squares, and a few taps set gable or hip, porches and lower roofs. Until the pitch is typed it is assumed at 4/12. It is a roof estimate from the footprint and pitch, not an aerial roof report.
As good as the corners it can see. Tape one wall and Scan scales the whole room to it; good light and a clear view of each corner do the rest. The tips in the guide are what we’ve learned measuring real houses.
Yes, as an underlay: the JPG is drawn to scale for tracing, and the PDF prints to scale with a scale bar on the page. There is no ESX export yet.
Signed in to a Scrivn account with no plan, 3 a month; the Scan plan, or any Scrivn plan, is unlimited. A scan is one capture, every room and level of it, counted once, the first time it is sent or shared. A phone with no account isn’t counted. While Scan is in testing, none are refused.
Not to try it: install it and start measuring. Sign in to a Scrivn account (in the app, tap Account) to send scans into it; the same account buys the Scan plan, here on scrivn.ca. Accounts are by invitation for now: if you’ve been given one, sign in, or ask us for one.
In the app, tap Account, then Delete account, or see scrivn.ca/account/delete.
They stay on your phone until you share a plan or send it to Scrivn. Sent to Scrivn, your account and its claims, photos and scans are stored in Canada. If a scan goes wrong you can choose to send it to us from the app, and we use it only to fix the problem.
